Have you ever noticed on TV when they show a retired couple lovingly leaning into each other. Each with hair on their heads and no double chins and looking fabulous like the plastic surgeon was their best friend. Well guess what? it is a hoax! Most of them can't lean like that without losing their balance. I'm now 67 complete with double chin and muffin tops (the rolls around the middle that drip over your pants)
I was trying to look through blogs to see what other "Seniors" were talking about. I am not sure what "Seniors" is suppose to mean since we aren't in high school and neither of my parents were Juniors.
I digress though. Of couse that is what we do at this age. It is so easy to get distracted and go onto something else and forget what you started doing.
Why am I writing this? Because! I have nothing better to do. Some people take up golf. ( It hurts my back) Others tennis ( I could never find a partner who could tolerate my learning curve) I tried crocheting once, but then I live in the desert and no one here need a lot of warm things. I made jewelry for awhile until all of my friends were no longer surprised at their presents, and my jewery chest is overflowing with items I never wear.
I never found a blogger talking about getting older. There are food bloggers and garden bloggers and blogger talking about diseases afflicting old people. I suspect there are some out there and I hope they find me.
Why does old age take us by surprise? Duh, Isn't it a basic fact that we are all going to get older. As I talk to my friends though we all seem to be unaware of the aches & pains, loss of memory and eyesight. We all fell hook, line and sinker for the great sail into the sunset.
It isn't all bad though, cooking is easy since we don't need much to eat. Throw something on the bbq and toss a salad and dinners ready. I get to go to lunch regularly with friends, started a book club, and skinny dip in the pool and not give a hoot about whose looking.
